It's Almost Here!

As some of you may know, the open house for Blue Sky School is on Wednesday the 30th of August. From the time of me writing this, that's tomorrow. That's mind boggling. More work than you could ever imagine has gone into the planning. Every step, from making plans to executing them, has been meticulously planned by Karen Hill and Shauna Pollock. But, what's so awesome about the Blue Sky School facilities? I'm happy I asked.

First off, we have an epic place for clothes. Why am I mentioning the larger than normal closet? Because it's awesome. If you keep walking, you'll see a gender neutral washroom because we respect all gender identities or lack thereof. It's the kind of washroom that makes you appreciate the invention of the toilet. Squeaky clean and perfect, it's the place you want to be in when you gotta go.

It sounds pretty great already, but there's more yet. The next room you will encounter has at least 1600 books in it. Bookshelves that reach the ceiling and comfy chairs with pillows that have pictures of pugs wearing headphones on them. Truly a book lovers paradise. Most importantly, It's organized by the colours of the rainbow. Right across the hall there is the health lab or gym. Here's where you go if you want to practice yoga, trampoline jumping or even boxing. There's always something that will make you sweat while having fun.

Keep going and you'll find a large open space with the campfire (a good meeting spot), a television, some awesome chairs and couches and some of the greatest work spaces ever. Further past that is the food lab, where students will cook meals a couple times a week and inside this food lab, there's an oven, two microwaves, a dishwasher, and much more.

Following the food lab, Mission Control is an office for everybody. Students and Teachers are welcome to use it and it's full of office supplies among other epic things. Last but most certainly not least, there's the Maker Space with tools such as 3D Printers and Chromebooks galore.

It's an amazing space and I am so excited for the 2017-18 school year! Thank you for reading this blog post, it was a blast to write, especially since I am currently in the facilities.
